Shortlist announced for 2013 Ashden Awards
Shortlists have today been announced for the 2013 Ashden Awards, which uncover and champion low-carbon trailblazers across the globe. Prizes of up to £40,000 will be made at a prestigious cerem
ony in London in June 2013.
24 green energy organisations and programmes from over 60 countries have been shortlisted for the International Awards and for the newly launched Awards for Small Island Developing States, run in partnership with the World Bank and SIDS DOCK.

Ashden Founder Director Sarah Butler-Sloss said: “To make progress towards our vision of a low-carbon future for all we need to find champions who are making a real difference in how we use and generate energy, and who can inspire change. This is what we do with the Ashden Awards.”
The Ashden Awards judging panel includes Professor Paul Ekins, Professor of Energy and Environment Policy of the UCL Energy Institute at University College, London; Andrew Simms of the New Economics Foundation; Dominic Brain of Christian Aid and Habiba Gitay, climate adaption expert at the World Bank.
Shortlists for the UK Ashden Awards and Eurostar Ashden Awards for Sustainable Travel were also published today.
